From 2002 until 2008, North Carolina was leading the country in the number of family farms and farmland acreage being lost in this country. (Link to USDA stats.) While these statistics have change slightly in the last couple of years, but we are still in the top 5 states for farmland loss. A sad legacy being left for future generations of North Carolinians. I tried very hard to find videos tied specifically to my state but had no luck so I pulled some from elsewhere. Maybe some of the following will make my point.
